PM Shehbaz Launches 4th Phase of Youth Laptop Scheme 2025

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially inaugurated the 4th phase of the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2025, reaffirming his government’s strong commitment to empowering young people through education, digital access, and skills training.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, the Prime Minister termed it a “historic day for Pakistan’s youth”, emphasizing that investing in education and innovation remains the government’s top priority.

Government’s Continued Vision for Youth Empowerment

PM Shehbaz said that the laptop scheme is part of a long-term vision that began in 2010 during his tenure as Punjab Chief Minister. He recalled that even during difficult times such as floods and financial challenges, no cuts were made to youth development budgets — a reflection of the government’s belief that education and skill-building are key to Pakistan’s future.

> “This program is not for personal recognition. It’s for the millions of young Pakistanis who will shape our country’s destiny,” the Prime Minister said.

He also highlighted that over 100,000 laptops have already been distributed on merit since 2011 under earlier phases, with a total investment of Rs40–50 billion.

Rs500 Billion for Youth Education, Skills, and Empowerment

The Prime Minister announced a massive Rs500 billion allocation for youth education, skills development, and empowerment projects under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program 2025.

“This fund is not an expense — it’s an investment in Pakistan’s bright future,” he stated.

Collaboration with Saudi Arabia for AI, IT, and Modern Skills

PM Shehbaz also announced a strategic collaboration with Saudi Arabia to provide advanced training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Technology, and modern trades.

He noted that Saudi Arabia is preparing for major global events such as Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034, and will require millions of skilled professionals. Pakistan, he said, will be a key partner in supplying trained manpower.

> “Our youth will play a crucial role in Saudi Arabia’s development vision. This partnership will create thousands of opportunities for Pakistanis abroad,” he added.

The Prime Minister expressed deep gratitude to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his support, including an economic package and skill development programs for Pakistani youth.
