5 New Skoda Cars Coming to India Soon From Slavia Facelift to Superb Diesel
Skoda Auto India is preparing to expand its lineup with several new and updated models across different segments. After the updated Kushaq, the company is expected to introduce more exciting products including the refreshed Slavia, a sportier Kylaq variant, diesel-powered premium models and another batch of the performance-focused Octavia RS
Here is a look at five upcoming Skoda cars that are expected to arrive in the Indian market
Skoda Slavia Facelift
The Skoda Slavia facelift is one of the most anticipated upcoming launches from the brand. The updated sedan is expected to receive noticeable styling changes at the front, including a revised grille, redesigned LED lighting and updated DRLs. A new dotted LED connecting element is also expected to give the sedan a more modern appearance
The front bumper is likely to get a redesigned look, while new alloy wheels and updated rear styling should further differentiate the facelifted model. The rear could feature revised tail lamps with sequential turn indicators along with a redesigned bumper
Inside the cabin, the updated Slavia is expected to offer a larger feature list. Highlights could include an updated touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.24 inch digital driver display, automatic climate control, electric sunroof, ventilated seats and a rear seat massaging function
Engine options are expected to remain unchanged with the 1.0 litre TSI and 1.5 litre TSI petrol engines. The smaller engine is expected to be available with a 6 speed manual and a new 8 speed automatic transmission, while the 1.5 litre TSI is expected to continue with a 7 speed DSG
Skoda Superb Diesel
The fourth generation Skoda Superb is also being considered for the Indian market, but the biggest highlight could be its diesel powertrain. Skoda has previously indicated that it could bring diesel engines back to selected models, although the Superb diesel is now expected to arrive in 2027 instead of its earlier expected timeline
Test vehicles have already been spotted in India. However, the Indian-spec version could differ from the model seen during testing. Instead of an all wheel drive setup, the India-bound Superb could be offered with front wheel drive
The premium sedan is expected to use a 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine producing around 150 PS and 360 Nm of torque. A 7 speed DSG automatic transmission is expected to be offered as standard
Since the Superb would arrive as a CBU model, its price is likely to be on the higher side. Skoda is also expected to bring the car in limited numbers
Skoda Kylaq Sportline
The Skoda Kylaq has quickly become an important model for the brand in India, and Skoda is now expected to add a Sportline version to the lineup
The upcoming variant should get a more aggressive appearance with black exterior elements and sportier styling touches. It could appeal to buyers looking for a more distinctive version of the compact SUV
The Kylaq Sportline is expected to retain the 1.0 litre three cylinder turbo petrol engine. This motor produces 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque
One important question is whether Skoda will introduce the newer 8 speed automatic transmission with the Sportline version or save it for a later update. More details are expected closer to its launch
Skoda Kodiaq Diesel
Skoda could also reintroduce a diesel powertrain with the Kodiaq in India. The three row premium SUV is expected to arrive next year and could follow the CBU route, which means only limited units are likely to be sold
The India-spec Kodiaq diesel could use a 2.0 litre TDI engine developing around 190 hp and 360 Nm of torque. An all wheel drive system is expected to complement the diesel engine
The SUV is expected to offer a premium cabin packed with technology and comfort features. Equipment could include a 13 inch infotainment display, 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, Alcantara upholstery, 360 degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated seats with massage functionality and multi zone climate control
Skoda Octavia RS Next Batch
Skoda is also preparing another opportunity for performance enthusiasts with the next batch of the Octavia RS. The first batch received a strong response in India, encouraging the company to bring more units of the performance sedan
The Octavia RS comes with a long list of premium features including an electric sunroof, 13 inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12 speaker Canton sound system, 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster and a gesture controlled powered tailgate
Under the bonnet, the Octavia RS uses a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque. Its combination of strong performance, premium equipment and sporty styling makes it one of the most exciting CBU models in Skoda's India lineup
