ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistan's election authority has announced that the much-awaited general elections will be held in the last week of January next year.

The Election Commission of Pakistan announced in a brief statement on Thursday that elections scheduled for November have been postponed due to redistricting.
According to the election management body, the final list of new constituencies will be announced by November 30, and voting will take place in late January after a 54-day process that includes the submission of nomination documents, appeals and campaigning.
